Recreational Gymnastics Levels 1-4
Level 1
(Previously Beginning Gymnastics)
In level one, athletes will begin to learn the fundamental strength, flexibility, and technique necessary for the progression of foundational gymnastics skills.
Focus points- Body position holds, landing shapes, arm and leg form, proper running technique, basic flexibility positions, and full body strength.
*Ages 4.5 - 7
Level 2
(Previously Intermediate Gymnastics)
In level two, athletes will continue to work on mastering the fundamental strength, flexibility, and technique to learn foundational gymnastics skills. We will also introduce the progressions for entry level skills, where athletes can begin putting the basic pieces together.
*Ages 5.5 - 8 or coaches recommendation
Level 3
In level three, athletes have already demonstrated a mastery of the fundamental strength, flexibility, and technique taught in the previous levels. We will continue to develop the entry level skills, while introducing the progressions for more complex team gymnastics skills.
*Ages 8+ or coaches recommendation
Level 4
(Previously Pre-Team Gymnastics)
In level four, athletes have demonstrated a strong mastery of fundamental strength, flexibility, and technique as well as the entry level skills and progressions. This level is a precursor to joining Xcel Bronze Level Team gymnastics.
